Ready-made medicines
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved semaglutide, sold as Ozempic or Wegovy, and tirzepatide, sold as Mounjaro or Zepbound.
Ask: which product is being discussed, and what is the reason for considering it?
An Arizona licence still leaves questions open
Get the name. Check the record. Ask what happens next.
A peptide is a tiny chain made of parts linked together. The parts used in that chain also make up proteins.
Calling a treatment a “peptide” tells you nothing about its safety or whether the law allows it.

When a pharmacist or doctor makes a medicine to meet a particular need, this is called compounding.
These custom medicines lack FDA approval. Before sale, the FDA does not assess whether they are safe, work well or are made well.
Ask: what need does the custom version meet?
FDA letters say a research label does not excuse marketing unapproved drugs to treat people.
Ask: is this being offered as care, or labelled as lab material?
Compare the product itself. A polished website does not answer these questions.

Mark a check when the answer is clear. Keep any gaps as questions for the visit.
A state grants a licence to give someone permission to practise.
A prescription is an order for medicine written by a doctor or someone else legally allowed to write it.
Ask whether the person’s licence allows them to order this medicine. The state board—the group that checks people in that profession—can help check their permission.
Licence number → ask for this number and use it with the person’s name in the record search.
Board orders → written decisions by the state group that checks the person’s work. Open each one to read what happened.
Follow-up → ask what happens after the first visit.

Care while you are in Arizona
Telehealth means care through video, phone or an online form.
As of October 3, 2026, some care professionals licensed in another state can treat people in Arizona through telehealth registration. This means signing up with the Arizona board for their profession and meeting its rules. This permission differs from holding a full Arizona licence.
Ask for the registration number if this is the permission they use. Ask that Arizona board whether it covers your visit.
Arizona pharmacy rules were checked on October 3, 2026. A pharmacy based in another state must have an Arizona permit to send medicine here. It must also hold a current permit, or equivalent permission, in the place where it is based.

Federal law is broken when prescription medicine is supplied without a valid prescription.
A business described as “FDA registered” has filed its details with the FDA. This does not mean the FDA approved that business or its medicines.
